i41CX App Reviews

Confusing pricing

They should be more clear that the modules are not available with the i41CX and you have to get the i41CX+ for the modules to work. Their product description for the i41CX indicates that you have access to all the HP modules. So I bought the basic version with an update for overlay. It turned out that all modular functions are NONEXISTENT unless you purchase the + version. I want to return the product if I can.

41 is back!

Glad to have an emulation of the best calc ever made.

Fantastic

Love this calculator!!

Excellent app

My HP 41C slowly developed hardware issues. This emulator app is fantastic. The developer is responsive and provides rapid support.

Great Calculator

I still have a working HP41c but this allows me to take it everywhere. The buttons are a little small on my iPhone but is great on an iPad. Well worth the money if you grew up with it.

Just Like My 41!

Im fortunate to still have two working 41s but having this app means that I can have all their functionality with me all the time. The only thing that keeps this from getting five stars is the fact that it is not made clear from the outset that getting a functioning printer display is an extra purchase. The screenshots show what appears to be a functioning stack display when in reality, it is only a help screen. Kind of a smarmy tactic. But I love this app, nonetheless. Hernando Conwi

Lacking style and versatility

The GUI is very coarse on retina display. It is still iPhone scale and does not use the iPads full display to give quick access to all of the great functions. Most of the skins (after an extra 2.99 purchase) are very low-res and look like scanned and heavily compressed jpegs with compression artifacts. The only hi-res skin is poorly designed where buttons are indistinguishable from one another making it difficult to find the right one. Inverse pinching (to enlarge the the calculator image) resulted in "memory ..." flashing on LCD that would render any further calculations impossible and required a hard reset to fix.

Perfect

Clearly a labor of love. This is the HP41C.

Awesome, but theres one little thing...

With the Vintage skin selected, the overlays dont align with the keys. But really, this emulation of an HP-41CX is beyond first-rate. Its truly astonishing. And the great thing about it – for someone who does have an actual, functional 41CX and a bunch of accessories – is that you can evaluate (and use!) a lot of hard-to-find program modules right here in this emulator. Thank you for doing such a great job with this app.

Finally an HP app awesome

My HP 41 CV battery just died after 25 years. I was going to try to get the battery replaced but a friend told me about this app. Im so excited to have RPN again and on my phone to take everywhere I go. Awesome.

Great but...

Love the idea and the interface. Big problem in that it locks up regularly on my ipad and the only way i have found to clear it is to power off or hard reset my tablet. Cant get it to respond any other way.

HP-41 review

Not quite the real thing as far as how it feels, but does the math just fine. My fav of several low $ RPN emulator downloads.

HP 41

This is my favorite calculator. Good news that it lives on. Programs and operates like the real thing (almost). The real thing has better "buttons.". Too bad there is not a card reader or wand app. Lots of programs, but not a fast way to enter them.

Does What it Says it Will Do

I bought the printer upgrade, and it works good on my iPad, but the printer does not appear on the iPhone, so beware of the current functionality ... I am hopeful I can find a solution, but if not, the iPad app is good, in fact very good. I am very happy to have an actual HP41 calculator, and am currently taking calculus using Larsons 10th, but in class I am trying to interface with this app instead of using my priceless 41.

HP 41-c simulation

Behaves great! This app acts just like an HP-41, which is one of my favorite calculators.

Buttons need to be more sensitive

Great calculator. Would give 5 stars if buttons were more sensitive. You have to be very deliberate about pushing them and it slows you down. Also need a vibrate option on button click. Currently only does click sound

No Documentation

A blast from the past that should have stayed there. If you like RPN calculators, there are others that have more documentation than reference to an archival site with scanned pages of original manuals. For those who used to use these remembering those days is more useful that this app. Im very disappointed with the app. Use it for 10 minutes before I deleted it (and thats where it will stay).

Works well, great app

This works like the original calculator. I have been using the app for years now and it has not had an issue yet. It brings back the old, reliable RPN calculators I know and love. I still prefer the physical hp calculator when I have one handy but in a pinch this is the next best thing.

HP41cx works great

I have been using the hp51 app for over a year now. It works exactly like my old hp41. It looks and feels like it. I even played around with the programming of it (even though there would be no point) and even that they got down to a tee. Thumbs up

Just like the good old days.

I love this app! I dont use programming. I just love knowing where all the buttons are. Five stars!
