Amazing calculator

Perfect replacement of my trusted HP41c. Folds two devices into one.

The HP-41, when it began its career, some thirty years ago, was a quantum leap in computer engineering. It is one of the best scientific calculator ever made. The only problem is that the HP-41 is not produced anymore. But this was before AL Software has developped this wonderful emulator. It is as close as you can get from the real thing. If you need a scientific calculator, BUY this program. It is an absolute MUST HAVE. Even if you have to buy an iPod Touch just to run it, it still worth the deal…

New update not working

Last update does not show numbers on screen. Please fix. Once fixed this is a 5 star product I use daily. Thanks

Nice!

My first calculator I bought was the HP41CV, and it stopped working a couple years ago. I grew up with RPN and thats how I think. Researching the history of the HP41 series for my 13yr old son, found this app! Wow! I can have my CV back... And even upgrade to the CX! Regrettably, I cannot migrate my programs, nor plug in my expansion packs, but its fantastic to see the old familiar keyboard on my iPhone!

crashes

it used to be one of the most reliable and most used of my applications. the latest version 3.0 - be careful as it might crash. i have not the time or patience to check for eventual incompatitbilities - it just crashes ;-( very sad. hope al software will soon publish a stable version.

Retired civil engineer

Love this app and my phone goes where I go! And not lose any of my functions that I use often

Magnificent Emulation

With real programmability like the original (now nearly 40-years old), you should have little difficulty transitioning to the iPhone version. Fish out the original manual if youre rusty (it isnt supplied), and yes, you can upgrade in-app for the emulated plug-in packs (nothing to download, as they are already built-in, awaiting payment).

Nice app for die-hard HP calculator people

Having lost my HP 22, 19C, 45 calculators, this app is a perfect app and love it! RPN habits are engraved in my brain and love this app!

Fantastic

I bought an HP-41 for the first time in 1981. Still have it. It was the best calculator money could buy (and it was expensive!). This app works EXACTLY like my physical HP-41. The attention to detail is incredible. I was thrilled when I found this app and gladly paid for it.

Amazing

Best calculator app! I upgraded to the plus and enjoy the programming. Im a pharmacist so it is great to develop programs for ideal body weight calcs as well as kinetics.

Just like the old 41

This app works very well. Programming is identical to the 41s with no apparent bugs - If you miss or want a 41 for daily use this is a good app to have.

HP 41CX Calculator

I find this calculator indistinguishable from the real thing. There is nothing this baby cant do!

Outstanding app

As an engineer who still uses a HP41CX and its peripherals in his daily work, and also as an experienced FOCAL (forty one calculator language) programmer, this iPad application is outstanding. If six stars were allowed, this app would get it. Its that good. After seeing how well the calculator app worked, I did the in-app upgrade to get the printer and additional features. Thats when the app went to six stars. If you believe, like me, that the HP41CX was the best engineering/scientific programmable calculator ever made, and that it was a tragedy that HP quit manufacturing that product, you will love this app. No more need to buy HP41 items on eBay to keep your years worth of custom HP41CX programs alive; just use your iPad running this perfect emulation of the HP41CX.

Seems good...

It seems like a good old HP, but I was hoping for a cross product application. Can anyone help me perform one on here?

Great RPN Calculator

This is a very good RPN calculator. In all respects it is the sme as the HP 14CX. I had some trouble adding the print option, but received good help from the developers. I am vey satisfied with the app.

Brilliant!

Ive owned a real one (used it up) and this is in many ways is better. For one, you can make it go faster than a real one! I was surprised at how quickly I could still type and program on this. For programming a handheld device actually on the handheld device, the keystroke programming calculator model is far superior to regular programming languages, and there was never a better calculator than the HP 41. The ability to chain little related programs, or call them from each other gives you tremendous flexibility to gain a little mathematical insight on the go. I feel like my phone has 10 times the utility from just this one app. I have my old friend back! Yay!

HP41CX Review

This is a fantastic application! My old 41CX (25Years old) has been acting up after 25 years of faithful service......and then I find this app. Its a fantastic replacement for my old CX, as it has pretty much all the features of the old CX and even a few more. The expanded stack readout is a nice upgrade. Kudos to the developer of this app....its superb!!!

Great App

This is a great app. Better than the original HP41 CX. A nice addition would be to show assigned keys when user key is activated.

Good replication

This is a nice app. I went to Ohio State U in the 80s when we had one engineering class where the teacher pretty much guaranteed an A if you bought an HP41 series calc. Many subsequent teachers in the eng college supported the use of RPN as well. I purchased the CX rather than the more popular CV model and it is amazing how used to the calculator I got even though I have had several other HP RPN calcs since. When I found this app it was like riding a bike. Even though there is no tactile feedback from the ipad ( one of the things i liked best about the HP) the sound feedback in the app does a good job of emulating it....its hard to describe. The app creator needs to do a better job of describing the selling point of the add-on packages.....which may make me purchase.

Great app, confusing features structure

Amazing HP41 scientific calculator emulation (and much more), but the pricing structure of the app purchase and In-App purchases is confusing. Probably better off to just purchase the features upgrade version from the beginning.
